Three-Dimensional Elastodynamic Analysis Employing Partially Discontinuous Boundary Elements

Compared with continuous elements, discontinuous elements advance in processing the discontinuity of physical variables at corner points and discretized models complex boundaries. However, computational accuracy is sensitive to positions element nodes. To reduce side effect node position on results, this paper proposes employing partially compute time-domain boundary integral equation 3D elastodynamics. Using element, nodes located will be shrunk into whereas non-corner remain unchanged. As such, a discrete model that surfaces between adjacent can generated. First, we present numerical integration scheme element. For singular integral, an improved subdivision method proposed time step accuracy. Then, effectiveness verified by two examples. Meanwhile, study influence stability computation results cases. Finally, recommended value range inward shrink ratio provided.
